WonderCake began as a personal quest in search of cakes that push beyond their apparent boundaries as objects of desire.
Showcased in a virtual chamber of curiosities, this otherwise-impossible collection, discovered wandering cyberspace, aims to carve a space for cakes in the fields of art and design.
The virtual exhibition is organized into four categories: artificialia, naturalia, exotica, and scientifica, echoing the Wonder Rooms' classification system for displaying the curiosities brought back by explorers from their quests around the world.
Situated within a free visual social platform, WonderCake sets out to explore the boundaries of cake; is it an object or an event? When does a cake cease to be a cake? Could cake be a verb; to cake or not to cake? Must a cake be realized, or can it exist simply as an idea?
